Beatriz Sánchez-Méndez

Health Equity Manager

Beatriz Sánchez is a health equity professional with a background in program development, community engagement, and health promotion. 

Bea has previously served in clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Ammon-Pinizzotto Center for Women’s Mental Health studying the effects of psychiatric medications on pregnant individuals and fetal development during the perinatal period. Additionally, she conducted research on animal models at Tufts University’s Miczek Psychopharmacology Lab exploring hormonal influences and sex-based differences on the motivation and aggression in mice.

Bea’s policy and advocacy work includes working with the United Nations Foundation to pass a bill protecting the education of girls in vulnerable community settings, co-founding the Tufts Puerto Rican Association, serving as a member of the Tufts Project S.H.A.R.E. Health Literacy and Immigrant Health committee, and as Outreach Chair for clubs at Tufts’ Institute of Global Leadership, where she organized events on public health issues affecting Latinx and immigrant communities in the U.S. Reflecting her dedication to education and mentorship, Bea was a Teaching Assistant in college for various courses in Spanish and Neuroscience.

Bea is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Tufts University. Now, she applies her knowledge in education, community engagement, research, and public health to address health disparities within the Chelsea and surrounding communities. She is proud to be part of La Colaborativa, improving the health outcomes of those systemically overlooked.
