Last week, a group of La Colaborativa Youth headed to the Massachusetts State House to take part in the 14th Annual I Have a Future Rally to demand legislation and funding for youth jobs, education, housing, and juvenile justice.
During the rally, Chelsea youth presented their powerful, personal testimonies about how they’ve been impacted by a lack of resources and legislative action on policies geared towards promoting dignity and justice for young people. Not only did they share their perspectives on how to shift the disparities young people in their communities experience but also demanded that our elected officials do more to create and support legislation to create safer environments, improve youth mental healthcare access, and uplift resources both in our schools and in our homes.
These youth are the future leaders of our communities, and we are so proud to support them as they advocate with their lived experiences for the change they want to see!
