Cambridge College honored our own Gladys Vega with an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letters at their 2022 commencement ceremony!
“As a fierce advocate for basic human rights, [Gladys’s] work exemplifies [her] passion and deep commitment to equality, social justice, opportunity and so much more.” said Deborah C. Jackson, President of Cambridge College. “[Her] relentless grit in advocating for the rights of Latino residents in the City of Chelsea was powerfully evidenced during one of our nation’s deadliest pandemics. [Her] resilience and leadership ensured that families and children had food, were safely housed, and received access to medical care and vaccines.”
Many of Cambridge College’s newest graduates share similar backgrounds to Gladys and the communities we serve – we are so proud of Gladys for serving as such an incredible example to these students and beyond!
