La Colaborativa’s Food Pantry has moved to 63 Sixth Street in Chelsea.
La Colaborativa distributes food to 3,000+ families each week from Chelsea and surrounding areas. Our doors are open to all. We offer pre-packaged food boxes and a mercado shopping option to supplement boxes with fresh, healthy produce. We also coordinate home food deliveries for vulnerable families and are expanding partnerships and resources to bring more healthy food to our families’ tables.
In 2022, we expanded to include a focus on healthy eating and nutrition that has helped keep our residents nourished and healthy especially amidst the pandemic. Food security and healthy nutrition are the foundation for addressing our community’s history of poor health outcomes and chronic food insecurity. We are also expanding support for residents to apply for SNAP and other cash benefits directly through La Colaborativa.
In 2023, we are thrilled to announce we will be moving our food pantry to a new permanent Chelsea location at 63 Sixth Street, and launching significant expansions to promote healthy eating, nutrition, and physical fitness. A commercial kitchen will complement food distributions with healthy meal demonstrations and workforce development opportunities for hospitality workers and food entrepreneurs. More details to come!

Request Food Delivery
Food delivery is available for families who cannot come to the pantry to collect their boxes due to health, transportation, or other risk factors. If you have COVID-19 you will get a food box for two weeks. If you are requesting a delivery for any other reason, our triage staff will contact you for more information and you will get deliveries every week.

Food boxes can vary greatly each week. We do our best to ensure that each box is complete with nutritious ingredients that are culturally familiar to our Latinx community and can be used together to create full meals for your families. Typical foods included in boxes include:

Policies & Procedures
La Colaborativa is committed to doing whatever it takes to address the widespread food insecurity in our community. Access to food is a human right. We work to ensure that every single person accessing our panty is treated with dignity and respect.
- The food pantry is open to all, regardless of city of residency
- Reason for delivery: COVID-19, elderly, pregnant, disabled
- Food boxes are pre-packaged with available food donations for that day.
- Boxes typically include enough food for a family of 4 to eat for 2-3 days.
- We will do our best to accommodate any special requests or dietary needs.. Please let a staff member know what you need when you come to collect your food.
- Masks and social distancing of at least 6 feet are required for everyone in the food line.
- No ID required
- Everyone is welcome
- Subject to change due to weather, availability and timing of donations
