Lina Tabar
Lina Tabar is the Director of Organizing & Policy at La Colaborativa, bringing a wealth of experience in community development, legal assistance, and policy advocacy. Since joining La Colaborativa in July 2023, Lina has empowered tenants to advocate for policies, resulting in increased affordable housing and reduced displacement. She has established strong relationships with city council members, legislators, and community leaders, leading to a significant increase in policy adoption and public awareness of housing initiatives. Before her current role, Lina served as an Immigration Paralegal at the Office of Roxana V. Muro in Los Angeles, where she coordinated court filings, conducted research, and managed case documentation for immigration petitions. She also worked as a Legal Assistant at the Law Office of Jose Osorio Jr., where she prepared immigration applications, gathered client documentation, and provided legal advice on property investments and housing matters. Lina holds an LL.M. in American Law from Boston University School of Law and a Law Degree from Pedro Henriquez Urena National University in the Dominican Republic. She has demonstrated strong leadership in coordinating community outreach and education efforts, leading to the formation of tenant associations and improved living conditions for public housing residents. Fluent in Spanish and English, Lina is committed to promoting community cohesion and supporting immigrant integration through her work at La Colaborativa.
